We seem to be living in a paradoxical world at present. On one hand, limitless potential awaits as Google flirts with quantum supremacy, and Boston Dynamics unveils their first commercial bot. On the other hand, people are embroiled in disagreement about reality itself. Digital feudalism and tribalism are on the rise; an attempted return to Dunbar’s number as a means of psychological escapism. The global brain is in nascent form, and is still finding itself.
A decentralized collective intelligence is forming. The question of our century is this: Will our increasing technological power outstrip our collective ability to make intelligent choices about the future of our species?
